Coming from humble beginings, New Orleans native, August Alsina, turned to his artistry as an escape from the drug abuse, death, and homelessness that plagued his family.

Under the direction of his music management, Alsina, relocated to Atlanta were he dropped his first mixtape, “The Product”. “The Product”, created internet and radio buzz that would lead to collaborations with music industry veterans, two albums, multiple hit singles, and recognition from media giants, such as MTV Fab 5.

The journey of August Alsina is a true representation of how life’s hardships can shape ones character, and be used as motivation to achieve greatness.


Artist Tribute Thursday: Chance The Rapper

Unique Impression Clothing recognizes Chicago native, Chance The Rapper, on Artist Tribute Thursday.  Chancellor Bennett aka “Chance The Rapper”  used a 10 day suspension from high school to record his debut album, “#10 Day”, in 2012.

After #10Day, hit the internet it  was quickly discovered by popular music listings and industry vets. Within a year of the mixtape release, Chance The Rapper, was on tour as the opening act for Childish Gambino.  Following the  Childish Gambino tour, Chance The Rapper, continues to  make his presence felt with recent mixtape, “Acid Rap”.

Chance The Rapper, may arguably be recorded as having the most productive suspension in the history of student disciplinary action.  The Unique Impression brand uses the #10 Day story as inspiration to turn obstacles into opportunities.
